The Australian Legal Writers Challenge is now open!

GTC-Legal-Writing-Challenge

OVER $6000 IN PRIZES UP FOR GRABS IN AUSTRALIAN LEGAL WRITERS CHALLENGE

Go To Court Lawyers is proud to announce the inaugural Australian Legal Writers Challenge is now open.

Budding writers holding an Australian law degree or in their final year of an Australian law degree are invited to enter by submitting an article pertaining to an element or concept of law from any Australian jurisdiction.

Prizes:

The winner of the Challenge will be awarded $5,000 in cash and will be recognised in a national media release. Second prize winner will receive $1,000 in cash and the third prize winner will receive $500 in cash. All winners and finalists will receive a certificate recognising their result in the Challenge. Winning entries may also be published online on the Go To Court Lawyers website.

Details:

Articles should be between 800 and 1,500 words in length. They should be in English, and written in a language and style that would be understandable by, and is targeted towards, the majority of Australians. More guidance is available on the Challenge website.

Entry to the Challenge is free. Multiple entries will be considered. Submissions must have been received by 12:00am (midnight) on 20 June 2016.

Laura began her legal experience through volunteering with the Student Legal Service offering free advice to students, and through a clerkship in the conveyancing team of a law firm in Hobart. She also volunteered at a Prisoner Legal Service, assisting inmates to obtain parole. Laura has a strong focus on family law, criminal and traffic law, although looks to broaden her knowledge into migration and civil law.
